THE ACREAGE, Fla. - It's not your typical meeting place, but never the less a bus tour for the Palm Beach County Commission was a meeting.

"Sometimes commissioners don't get out and see what's going on in the other areas, so this was an opportunity for us to learn," District 2 commissioner Paulette Burdick said. "This makes it so we can make better decisions for all the residents in Palm Beach County."

Vote was split 60% / 40% with challenger Byrnes Guillaume, Esq.

The election is for Town Council Seat #3, with a 3 year term.

LGLA Candidates Forum

At the LGLA meeting tonight, there was a candidates forum where the two candidates running for Town Council Seat #3 answered questions about key Town issues such as roads, commercial development, the future of Okeechobee Blvd., etc.

The candidates are Ryan Liang, the current Vice-Mayor of the Town and a farmer and nurseryman, and Byrnes Guillaume, Esq., an attorney and former prosecutor.

Dennis Lipp was the moderator for the forum, and asked a wide variety of informed questions.

The forum lasted approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Town Council & LGWCD Joint Workshop

There was a joint meeting between the Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District and the Loxahatchee Groves Town Council today at the Loxahatchee Groves Elementary School.

Topics on the agenda included the Town roads and a Town/District merger.

A potential Town/District merger has been the subject of much discussion lately. An audio recording of this part of the meeting is available here:
